CBC AM holds and gains radio listeners

VANCOUVER - For the second straight ratings period, CBC AM leads all Vancouver radio stations in listeners, and has increased its edge over CKNW.

This is our way of saying, "Up Yours, CKNW - cut back the number of ads, ban all annoying ads, dump the right-wing cranks, stop cheer-leading the provincial Liberals and *maybe* we'll listen again."

Vancouver gets tough with slum landlords

Vancouver gets tough with slum landlords - The city of Vancouver is prepared to go to court to fight against delinquent landlords who failed to repair mouldy bathrooms, water leaks, cabinets falling off the walls and, worse of all, sewage backing up into suites. [CBC BC]

This goddamned Sahota family, resident on posh Angus Drive in South Vancouver, ought to have their properties AND assets seized by the city.

They've made a fortune off of the poorest and most vulnerable in Vancouver by providing flea and bedbug ridden, mouldy, rotting, leaking, sewage soaked housing.

Death no laughing matter, but inquiry was a joke

By rights, the investigation into the shooting of Mr. St. Arnaud should be re-opened. It won't be, but it should...

Were the officers assigned to investigate the circumstances of the police shooting of Kevin St. Arnaud in Vanderhoof, B.C., five years ago just incompetent, or did they deliberately bungle the job to help protect a fellow officer?

So, are the police criminals for covering up crime, or hopelessly incompetent at performing any investigations?

Ignatieff to PM on rising deficit: 'How much more?'

Ignatieff to PM on rising deficit: 'How much more?' - Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff called on the Conservative government Thursday to reveal just how much higher the federal deficit will climb this fiscal year. [CBC Canada]

I'm sorry, Mr Ignatieff, but Prime Minister Stephen Harper is the world's worst economist.

How the hell would he know what the deficit will be? He predicted no deficit 8 months ago, then a $35,000,000,000 deficit a mere 5 months ago, then a $50,000,000,000 deficit this week.
