Chasm

A view point exists at the head of a mighty chasm. Layers of stratification are evident and one can view all the way along the chasm to the Fraser Plateau. This is *just* south of the Cariboo, in Thomson district.

Cinnamon Creek Rec Site

Finally - we're *camping*! Screw the Cariboo, just south-west of Lillooet on Duffy Lake Road are some amazing rec sites to experience. This is along Cayoosh Creek, which was mined by predominantly Chinese gold miners. The book(s) stated that they tended to stick around 'til nothing was left, as opposed to others who'd move along always looking for the big jackpot. I imagine the Chinese were treated so shabbily by the whites that they felt better off mining somewhere with a diminishing supply than to subject themselves to institutionalized racism. (Shame on Canada for that part of our history!)

Cinnamon Creek Rec Site

Finally - we're *camping*! Notice my fancy lights? Yeah, I'm nuts: I take an inverter (DC to AC electrical converter) camping so I can plug in a shop light with a CFL (Compact Fluorescent Light) and LED xmas lights. The xmas lights allow a shadow-free glow to be cast around the site, allowing for easy navigation. Also handy for recharging mobile phones, cameras, etc. We also have a 12v DC cooler - they're GREAT! Driving for hours in 30*C temperatures and the cooler keeps getting colder and colder... Screw the Cariboo, just south-west of Lillooet on Duffy Lake Road are some amazing rec sites to experience.
